California Nectarines

California Nectarines - Brennans Market

What is the difference between a Nectarine and a Peach?

Not much. They are almost genetically identical except for one gene variant. A gene variant that results in peach fuzz. The main difference is the fuzz. Peaches have it.  Nectarines don't. Both come in white and yellow varieties and can be used interchangeably in cooking and baking.

When looking for a ripe, tasty nectarine dripping with sweet juice, just ask a Brennan's Produce Expert.  Tim works hard every week to find the sweetest and juiciest nectarines grown. Once they arrive at Brennan's, their produce experts pre-ripen them just for you and are on-hand to help you choose your fruit.

Nectarines make a great addition to any fruit salad, or slice and serve them on top of Brennan's Super Premium Vanilla Ice Cream for a cool summer dessert.
