Don’t Miss The Swiss Burger

Adapted By Brennan's 27 Sep 2018

Serving Size: makes 8 kid servings and 4 adult burgers.

3 1/2 pounds lean ground beef

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

1 cup Brennan’s Medium Swiss or Aged Swiss, grated

12 hamburger buns, lightly toasted

24 slices bacon, cooked

Cracovia Sauerkraut, drained

Brennan’s Dusseldorf Mustard

This is the burgers for fans of strong, “old world” flavors. Serve with potato salad or coleslaw, and, of course, a cold beer. This recipe makes 8 kid-portioned burgers and 4 adult burgers. Adjust the recipes based on your count.

Mix first 3 ingredients in large bowl until just blended. Shape half of meat mixture into eight 1/2-inch-thick patties. Shape remaining meat mixture into four 1-inch-thick patties. (Can be made 8 hours ahead. Cover and chill.)

Prepare barbecue (medium-high heat). Grill patties to desired doneness, topping with cheese for last minute of cooking, about 6 minutes per side for medium-rare1-inch thick patties. Place burgers on bottom halves of buns and top with bacon, sauerkraut and mustard and the top of the bun. Enjoy!
