Adapted By Brennan's 27 Sep 2018

Tags:envy apples, pie, dip, apple
Serving Size: 4-6

2 Envy Apples

1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

2 Tablespoons unsalted butter

1/4 cup light brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1-2 pinches fine sea salt

1/4 cup Apple Brandy or Brandy

1 Tablespoon cold water

1 teaspoon cornstarch

Adapted From: envy apples

Serve with pita chips or with baked Brie

Peel, core, slice, and dice the apples. Toss them with lemon juice. Melt the butter in a 2-quart nonstick pot over medium to medium-low heat. Add the apples, toss to coat evenly, and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, sea salt, and Brandy, stir well, and simmer for an additional 10 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the liquid has reduced. In a liquid measuring cup, whisk the water and cornstarch until smooth, then stir into the apple mixture.

Simmer for an additional 2 minutes, stirring frequently, then remove from heat. Serve immediately.
