Create a Delicious Thanksgiving Cheese Board (DIY)

This appetizer recipe is easy to make and a showstopper!

    Autumn Cheese Board
    • 1 soft cheese (Rock 'n Rolla Gorgonzola, Brie)
    • 2 semi-soft cheeses (Gouda, Baby Swiss, Havarti, Brick)
    • 1 hard cheese (Aged Cheddar, Parmesan, Aged Swiss)
    • Brennan's Apple Crisps or Caramelized Onion Crackers
    • Cured Meats: Salami (Driftless Provisions or Brennan's)
    • Nuts: Fortune Favors, cashews or cinnamon-roasted almonds
    • Tait Farms Apple or Cranberry Chutney
    • Fresh or Dried Fruit (grapes, pear or apple slices, dried apricots, figs or cranberries)
    • Brennan's Leaf Cookies

Simply assemble ingredients all over the board until the cheese board is full and you can't see the board.

    Brock's Wine Picks

Thanksgiving is a very versatile and forgiving holiday for wine pairings.. The classic options are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (of which we feature one here and many more in the store), but we always like to venture out a bit and try something new and delicious, as well!

    Red Wine
    Black Oak Pinot Noir
    California
Deep ruby in color with a lovely bouquet of sweet spices, even a dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is full of ripe black cherry flavors. This medium-bodied wine with its fresh acidity will complement many meal selections, but is the ideal accompaniment to the full Thanksgiving spread.
    $8.99 / 750ml

Teliani Valley Kindzmarauli Semi-sweet Red Wine
    Kindzmarauli, Georgia
A naturally semi-sweet wine from the Kindzmarauli area of the country of Georgia. Aromas of crushed rose petals, plums and wild berries. A perfect combination with spicy food, venison, dark meat turkey, and a variety of cheeses. Yes, obscure...but also deliciously affordable. You almost can't not try it!
    $15.99 / 750ml

    White Wine:
    Prosper Maufoux Macon-Villages Chardonnay
    Burgundy, France
"This really smells like white Burgundy with notes of summer meadows and mandarin oranges, plus a hint of chalky character. Creamy, medium-bodied palate with a touch of butterscotch. At once ripe and lively." - James Suckling. The classic white pairing for the holiday makes it easy going from beginning to end. The flavors go with savory or sweet, rich or light - the versatility is key as it enhances whatever you are eating without you having to think about it too deeply - just what we think a great food wine should do!
    $22.99 / 750ml

Karl Erbes Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese
    Mosel, Germany
Precise yet still rich on the clear, pure and spicy-elegant nose. Intense and juicy on the palate, this is semi-sweet yet crystalline, very elegant and persistent. It is very interesting and lively with herbal notes on the aftertaste. A fantastic pairing with sage stuffing, turkey gravy and roasted green beans.
    $19.99 / 750ml

    Hard Cider:
    The Cider Farm Rose Cider
    Mineral Point / Madison, Wisconsin
This limited-release Rosé cider is made with three varieties of rare red-fleshed apples from The Cider Farm blended with tart and tannic apples for mouthfeel, and finished with a bit of elderberry juice for additional color. It is a clear, sparkling semi-dry cider with juicy aromas of strawberry, raspberry, passion fruit, and lime juice, as well as floral notes of honeysuckle and rose. On the palate come the same red fruits of strawberry and raspberry, along with green grape and lemon juice, all balanced with a subtle tannin. Rosé pairs well with many autumn favorites such as roasted pumpkin seeds, fig and beet salad, or butternut squash soup.
    $12.99 / 500ml

    Island Orchard Ginger Apple Cider
    Ellison Bay, Door County, Wisconsin
Medium body, light astringency. Dry with a balance of fruit and tartness. Apple Ginger is a simple expression of the fruit and yeast with which it was fermented. It is steeped with ginger root to add a brisk, sharp edge that is ideal for cutting through the richness of the meal. Apple and ginger are both common flavors of fall, and this cider will create all sorts of interesting flavor combinations throughout the meal. A surprisingly delightful pairing with cinnamon dusted cheesecake!
    $16.99 / 750ml

    Something Different:
Crafted Artisan Meadery Spiced Maple Cranberry Mead
    Mogadore, OH
Crisp cranberry tartness balanced by sweet maple syrup and savory fall spices. Semi-sweet with a refreshing light body. A wonderful alternative to traditional Thanksgiving beverages, this spiced mead will have you all in those fall feels.
    $10.99 / 500ml

Loonie Honeycrisp Cider infused with 10mg THC
    Eau Claire, Wisconsin
The fresh sweet-tart flavor of the classic Honeycrisp apple infused with 10mg hemp-derived THC. No alcohol. This is a delicious beverage, but if you are new to THC, start slow and try half a can during football between dinner and dessert, and wait for an effect. You can also use it to spike regular apple cider to limit the effects and stretch out the evening. Enjoy responsibly.
    $16.99 4/12oz cans

Please note: We are closed on Thanksgiving Day.
