~The Age of Bootlegging~
In 1919 the 18th Amendment prohibited the manufacture and sale of
alcohol beverages in the United States ushering in the Era of Prohibition.
New European immigrants, accustomed to having wine as part of their
daily lives, began making their own wine. In a small town in Northern
California, today’s wine country, a special wine was produced
in a hidden cellar and given to friends and family.
After Prohibition the secret blend was so popular, it was distributed
to San Francisco homes and restaurants.
Today we’ve rediscovered that secret blend and celebrate America’s
past with Brennan’s Bootleg Reserve. |
