Louisiana Creole Gumbo

Celebrate Mardi Gras the right way with this delicious dish!

Ingredients:
    1 6 oz. Panola Plantation Creole Gumbo Readi-Mix
    6 cups water
    2 lbs. shrimp
    1 cup sliced sausage
    2 tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 16 oz. can crushed tomatoes
    ½ red bell pepper, chopped
    Panola Gourmet Pepper Sauce, to taste


Preparation:

Mix readi-mix in water using a wire whisk. Add tomatoes, then bring to a boil in a pot on stove. Reduce heat, cover and simmer.

Brown sausage and red pepper in oil over low heat until sausage is golden brown, about 15 minutes. Add sausage, peppers, and shrimp to pot and bring back to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 20 minutes, or until shrimp turn white. Add pepper sauce if desired.

Mix it up- add whatever seafood you like, or chicken!
